Williams will play in the Wednesday afternoon session. Tickets are still available.

The American has been ranked No. 1 in the world and has seven Grand Slam singles titles. In Charleston she'll go after her 50th career trophy as the No. 3 seed here.

"I've had a lot of great memories here," Venus told reporters on Monday. "I love taking advantage of playing at home, in the U.S. It's a good feeling."
