Wozniacki celebrates her 30th title

The 2018 tennis season began with Caroline Wozniacki accomplishing the biggest milestone of her career -  winning her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. Ten months later the Dane is still going strong and lifted her third WTA title of the season in Beijing. Wozniacki recently stated that eight was her lucky number, and coincidentally it’s been eight years since she last won the title in Beijing.

On her 2018 season, Wozniacki was quoted saying she “felt it was my year”.

In the Beijing finals, the 28 year-old defeated US Open semifinalist Anastasija Sevastova 6-3 6-3. Sevastova had downed US Open champion Naomi Osaka in the semifinals on her way to the finals. Wozniacki did not drop a single set the entire tournament.
This win celebrates Wozniacki’s 30th title of her career.  Impressively, Wozniacki is the fourth active player on the WTA tour with the most titles - behind Serena Williams (72), Venus Williams (49) and Maria Sharapova (36). A remarkable milestone for the Dane as she improves her record to 5-1 in her last six final appearances. With a boost in confidence, the World No. 2 will now head to Singapore to defend her title at the WTA Finals.
